「援交」應來自日本，全名是「援助交際」，就是跟陌生人交往，換取報酬，以援助生活。英文報章一般譯做compensated dating。Compensate是「補償」(名詞為compensation)；dating一般指男女間的約會，一如拍拖。例如：

Ting Kai-tai was jailed for the brutal murder of a 16-year-old girl involved in what is known as compensated dating.

A "barbaric" 24-year-old man who beheaded the body of a teenage compensated-dating girl and flushed her remains down the toilet was sentenced to life in jail yesterday.

「師奶」是俗語，指不再年輕、略胖、衣著老土的女士，很多時指中下階層的女人，與「淑婦」、「貴婦」不可同日而語。

原來，英文有一個字，也形容一個女人「很師奶」，那是matronly。matronly是形容詞，例如a matronly woman，大概就是我們口中的師奶了。

Whitewash可作名詞可作動詞，字面直譯是「洗白」，實指「白灰水」等白色塗料，把一幅牆塗成白色，掩蓋了真面目，便引伸作「塗脂抹粉」，例如：
